Hiring Questions

What is included in the price of my holiday?
Your holiday cost included all of the heating and utilities (gas, water electric etc) available in your holiday property. All accommodation is provided with bed linen, towels and kitchen linen. Our lodges have fully equipped kitchens and we provide all the utensils you should need. Our pods have more limited catering facilities including a microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster.

What should I bring with me?
As mentioned above, all bed-linen and towels are provided so all you need to bring with you is your clothes, your family or friends and a good book!

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, certainly! There is an additional charge for dogs, depending on which accommodation you will be staying in. Please let us know at the time of booking that you will be bringing a dog so that we ensure we allocate you a dog friendly property. We’re a dog friendly park but we do have some rules for dogs and dog owners, which we’re sure you won’t find out of the ordinary.
We ask that you kindly respect others staying on the park and:

  • Keep your dog on a lead at all times
  • Always clean up your dog’s mess and use the bins provided around the park and course to dispose of said mess.
  • Ensure your pet(s) stay off all the furniture inside the accommodation including the sofas and the beds.

Our park adheres to the Dangerous Dogs Act 2014, so if you own a breed that is listed in this act you will not be able to bring them on holiday with you. If you have any further questions regarding dogs at our parks, please call us on 015242 62455.

Does the park have Wi-Fi?
We don’t currently have Wi-Fi to the lodges or pods but we’re working on it! In the meantime, complimentary Wi-Fi is available in 1922 Bar & Kitchen, our on-site restaurant so you’re welcome to head there.

Do you accept single sex parties?
Yes, we do.

Do you cater for guests with accessibility needs?
None of our accommodation is currently wheelchair friendly and all have steps into the property. If your party includes someone with special needs, please let us know prior to booking and we’ll be pleased to offer further advice. You can contact us on 015242 62455.

When will I receive my booking confirmation?
If you booked online, you should receive your booking confirmation email within 48 hours. If your confirmation doesn’t arrive, we advise you to check your spam or junk folders initially before contacting us on 015242 62455 and we will re-send you your booking confirmation. If you booked over the phone, you should receive your booking confirmation electronically immediately after you’ve made the booking. If you choose to receive a postal confirmation then this may take up to 7 working days to arrive.

Can I make changes to my booking?
A change of dates, or any other changes that affect the price of your holiday will be treated as a major change. Major changes made at least 28 days prior to the start date of your holiday will incur an administration charge of £20. Changing the date of your holiday is also subject to availability. Please be aware that there may be in increase in price should your new dates cross over a different price point or run outside of the dates of any promotion.

Will I incur any charges if I cancel my booking?
We appreciate that sometimes things happen, and you need to cancel your holiday. If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know immediately by telephone and then send us a confirmatory letter or email.

We cannot guarantee a full refund; however we will endeavour to come to an arrangement if full payment for your stay has been made. All deposits are non-refundable but may be transferable for 1 occasion only. Failure to arrive without satisfactory explanation or written cancellation will not be entitled to a transfer of stay.

When can I check in and when do I have to check out by?
Check in is from 3pm and check out time is 10am.

Can I book extra nights during my stay?
Subject to availability, it may be possible to book additional nights in your accommodation. Please speak to a member of the reception team and let us know as soon as you possibly can.

Can friends visit us whilst we’re on holiday?
Yes, they can. We just ask that they sign in at reception upon arrival and let us know how long they think that they’ll be staying for.

Do I need to bring anything when I check in?
If you can bring a copy of your booking confirmation that is helpful but otherwise, no. If for any reason you haven’t paid in full prior to your arrival then payment will need to be taken before you are shown to your accommodation

Can I choose where we are situated on park?
Your will be pre-allocated a property based on your requirements and our availability. If you are a returning customer and would like a particular lodge or pod then we will endeavour to meet your needs where availability allows. We retain the right to transfer your accommodation if we need to, for example if there is a problem in your requested lodge or pod and it is not useable for the duration of your stay.

Do you supply cots or high chairs?
Yes, we have travel cots and high chairs available for an additional charge.

Do I have to pay for the on-park facilities or activities?
On park activities including Golf, FootGolf and the Driving range all incur and additional charge. Please head to www.benthamgolfclub.co.uk to find out more about these costs. We have equipment available for hire for all of these activities so don’t worry if you don’t have space to pack your own.

Do you provide equipment for hire such as bikes, etc?
No, we don’t currently have any bikes available for hire. However, there are two local businesses who do offer bikes for hire and we recommend that you contact them in advance to avoid disappointment. Those businesses are Escape Bike Shop and 3 peaks cycles.

Do you have a smoking policy?
Smoking is not allowed inside any of our accommodation or inside 1922 Bar & Kitchen. Vaping is also prohibited inside 1922 Bar & Kitchen.
If you choose to smoke on your deck or around your accommodation, then please dispose of cigarette ends safely and sensibly. Do not just throw them in the surrounding garden.

Can I book my next while I am on site?
You most certainly can! Pop in to reception during your stay on your departure day and a member of our team will be able to organise this for you.

Do you have any offers available?
We have the same rates throughout the year for our lodges to make it fair to those who may only be able to holiday during the school holidays. However, during the off-peak season, we will run various offers and promotions for holidays at Wenningdale Escapes.

 

Ownership Questions

How long is the park open for?
We are fortunate enough to have a 12month season, so we remain open all year round. However, this is still for holiday use only and you cannot live in your lodge. Please keep reading these FAQ’s for more information about holiday use.

What can my lodge be used for?
Lodges at our park can only be used for holiday purposes. This means the lodge may not be someone’s main residence. That is why we ask you about the address of your main residence and will continue to do so while you own the lodge.

How long can a holiday be and how frequently can I have a holiday?
Individual circumstances vary. The point is that someone who is on holiday has their main residence elsewhere where they mainly live. It is important to note that a holiday is a period of recreation away from your main residence, during which no work is done.

There is no limit to the number of holidays which can be taken in the lodge provided that it is not used as someone’s only or main place of residence.

I am retired, can I use the lodge all the time?
Being retired does not mean you are on holiday. The test is whether you have a main residence elsewhere.

Can I hire my lodge out?
There are designated pitches on our park which, if you occupy that pitch, you are allowed to let your lodge out. However, this letting is to be done exclusively through Wenningdale Leisure and there is a set management and cleaning fee per let.

Can I have decking with my lodge?
All our lodges are sold as a turnkey price, which includes a standard decking. Through the purchasing process, there will be an option to discuss what decking is available. A standard deck is 8ft x 20ft with clear glass surround and 1 set of steps to the lodge. Examples of this can be provided on request.

What are the Park Rules?
We have produced a comprehensive set of rules to ensure enjoyment for all people using the park and surrounding golf course. We want you all to have a fun, safe and enjoyable time with us. A copy of these are available from reception, please contact hello@wenningdale.co.uk for an electronic version.

Do I need to make an appointment to view your sales lodges?
No, you’re welcome to just turn up if you’re passing. However, we do advise that you ring ahead to ensure that a member of staff will be available to show you round. Due to the layout of our park its not possible to just wander around freely and go into the sales lodges.

 

Golf Questions

Is anyone able to use the golf course?
Yes, as a family run club we welcome people of all ages and abilities on to the course. Tee times can be booked in advance in our Pro Shop by calling 015242 62455 or email golf@benthamgolfclub.co.uk. Please let us know when booking if you have little or no experience so that we ensure we book the most appropriate time for you to play on the course. This will maximise enjoyment and minimise stress for yourself and others on the course.

How much does a round of golf cost?
As customers staying in our lodges, you’re entitled to discounted green fees. The cost is £12.50 for 18 holes or £7.50 for 9 holes any day of the week. These prices are based on the adult rates.

Can we hire equipment?
Yes, we have clubs for adults and children available to hire, including left and right-handed clubs. We also have golf buggies, electric trolleys and push/pull trolleys available to hire.
We don’t provide clothing or footwear for hire though so please pack some sensible footwear fi you’re planning on playing golf or going on the Driving range during your stay.
As lodge owners, can we become members?

Yes, we have specific membership categories designed to suit lodge owners and discounts are available. For more information and an exact price, please contact a member of the Pro Shop staff or email golf@benthamgolfclub.co.uk.
