A dedicated member of the Marshall family, who have over 25 years of experience in the UK’s holiday and leisure industry, John combines tradition with a modern approach to hospitality and customer care.

John’s connection to the family business began at just 11 years old, answering phones and helping at Riverside Caravan Park. After gaining valuable experience in accountancy and completing a Master’s degree at the University of Leeds, John returned to the business full-time with a fresh perspective and a clear vision for the future.
In his five years as Operations Manager, John has:
- Expanded Facilities: Overseen the development of luxury lodges and glamping pods at Wenningdale Escapes, as well as enhancing the pitch facilities and infrastructure at Riverside Caravan Park.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As Head of Operations for Wenningdale Escapes and Riverside Caravan Park, John oversees every aspect of the parks’ management, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest standards of customer care. His responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning and Development: Leading the expansion of facilities, including luxury lodges, glamping pods, and improved amenities to enhance guest experience and drive long-term growth.
- Operational Management: Coordinating the maintenance and improvement of all infrastructure, from the Bentham Golf Course fairways to lodge grounds, pathways, and communal areas.
- Team Leadership: Managing a dedicated team of groundskeepers, hospitality staff, and customer service professionals, ensuring they share the family ethos of care and attention to detail.
- Guest Experience Oversight: Setting and maintaining standards for cleanliness, safety, and service across both parks to deliver a seamless and welcoming experience for all visitors.
- Financial Management: Overseeing budgets, controlling operational costs, and identifying opportunities for revenue growth across accommodations, golf facilities, and ancillary services.
- Sales and Marketing Coordination: Showcasing prospective ownership opportunities, including luxury lodges and glamping pods, and working to promote the parks’ offerings across online and offline platforms.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensuring both parks meet all legal and safety standards, with a proactive focus on guest and staff welfare.
