High Bentham is located close to a diverse range of artistic experiences, from intimate local exhibitions to larger, more established art centres.
In High Bentham itself we are fortunate to have a fantastic photography display on Main Street, courtesy of the talented Bentham Imaging. Whilst Jon works on portrait and wedding photography, he also features stunning landscape images too.
Studio42 on Bentham Industrial estate features work by Rachel Thornton and Michelle Hodgson, both of whom pay homage to the local landscape with their unique styles.
A short trip to the neighbouring village of Ingleton will take you to Stonegate Gallery. The gallery has an excellent display of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, gifts and so much more from an array of talented British artists and craftspeople. The artists at Stonegate specialise in stained glass work including windows, splashbacks and kiln formed artwork.
Further along the A65 and deeper into the Yorkshire Dales will take you to Settle where you will find Studio Vault. Displaying an eclectic mix of artwork, ceramics, jewellery and quickly homewards, a trip to this boutique gallery will make your day all the more colourful.
Fairfield Mill in Sedbergh is a former Victorian Mill which has been converted into a cultural venue located in a scenic Yorkshire Dales town. Hosting a variety of exhibitions, workshops and events that all showcase textiles, art, craft and heritage.
Kendal, in the South Lakes is home to the Brewery Arts Centre and hosts cinema, theatre, live music and creative displays year round.
If you are looking to capture your holiday and immerse yourself in photography whilst you are staying with us then we are very lucky to be close to some incredibly scenic locations. Whether you want to venture to ‘Big Stone’ on Burnmoor and capture the landscape below you or nature photography is more your thing, we are sure to have a spot for you. From capturing the steam trains going over Ribblehead Viaduct to the wildflower meadows in the Forest of Bowland, it’s certainly worth packing your camera.
