Whether you are looking for a quieter walk to the tarn away from the crowds or to burn off the holiday snacks by tackling the 400 steps up to the top of Malham Cove, these walks will offer something for you.
There are a number of miles without stiles routes, perfect for using the pram or even using the tramper available for hire from the National trust, which you can find out more about here.
Malham Cove – Take a short stroll from the Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre Car Park and immerse yourself in this ‘awe-inspiring natural amphitheatre. There is an accessible route, which is 1 mile long, taking you to the bottom of the cove after wandering through Malham village. View the route here Alternatively, you can take on the 400 steps to enjoy the view from the top of the Yorkshire Dales
Janets Foss – Steeped in local folklore, this picturesque waterfall is nestled in scenic woodland. Named after the queen of fairies, a trip to this foss is bound to be magical. View the route here
Gordale Scar. – Gordale Beck winds its way down this rugged limestone gorge, created by glacial meltwater. A diversion through the countryside paths to include Gordale Scar is definitely worth it. View the route here
Fancy combining all 3? You can enjoy the Malham Landscape Trail which has a short side trip to ensure Gordale Scar is included in this loop. This 3 hour circular route takes in all of the key areas above over 4.5 miles.
Malham Tarn – Enjoy this undulating 4.5mile walk around Malham Tarn, starting from the National Trust car park. View the route here
