Itinerary: Summer break in a pod - Wenningdale Escapes

Itinerary: Summer break in a pod

So, you’ve managed to sneak a 2 night break in at one of our glamping pods? Let us help you make the most of your break, whilst ensuring you leave refreshed and recharged, with our suggestions for your time with us…

Day 1: Arrival day

Check-in into your pod for 3pm (unless we text you to let you know your accommodation is ready earlier) and get yourself settled, unpacking your things into our compact wardrobe.

If daylight allows, take a leisurely stroll along the footpaths to enjoy the view from our ‘Hope Stones’, which are located next to the 5th golf tee. From here, you can enjoy views of the Lakeland Fells, Yorkshire Dales to the front and the Forest of Bowland National Landscape behind you. (Please make sure you stick to the designated footpath as you are staying on an 18 hole golf course so diverting from the paths could put you in danger. There will be a map in your pod to help you).

For dinner, you can wander into the village of High Bentham and enjoy a meal in one of the local pubs. If you want to stay cosy then why not nip down and pick up a take away from the pizzeria, Chinese, Indian or Fish & Chip shop.

Day 2: Explore the area

After a restful nights sleep and cosy lie in, watching the world wake up from the comfort of your bed, it’s time to head out into the village.  Stop at 1922 Bar & Kitchen on your way for breakfast (serving times apply, find out more here) or enjoy it at one of the cafes in High Bentham.

To explore a traditional Yorkshire Dales town, we recommend hoping in the car and heading to Ingleton. Here, you can walk the famous Waterfalls Trail, head to Whitescar Caves.

Head back to Wenningdale Escapes via Country Harvest, on the A65, and pick up something from their award winning butchers to enjoy on the BBQ back at your pod (if you didn’t bring one with you, you’ll need to pick up a BBQ too as we don’t supply them).

On your return to your pod, crack your favourite drinks, throw your sausages on the BBQ and take in your scenic surroundings. When night falls, take in our dark skies and enjoy some stargazing.

Day 3: Heading home

Sadly all good things have to come to an end! But if you don’t have to rush off then you can still make the most of your time in the area.

Check out is at 10am but you’re welcome to leave your car with us if you’d like to try another local walking route, hit a few balls on the driving range or even play a round of golf.

Or you could amble along the riverside, enjoying our High Bentham Circular walk.

When you get back, don’t forget to give us a little review of your stay via google or on the post-stay email you’ll get from us. If you don’t already, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
